When you just start on a ketogenic journey, you may wonder when you become fat-adapted. They say that you would feel ketones - but YOU JUST WANT TO KNOW if your body is really producing ketones or not, right?
These ketone strips are the most cost-efficient way to test for the presence of ketones in your urine. All you have to do is to pee on the strip and wait for a minute.
It is useful when you want to test how quickly you get back in ketosis when you get out because you went out with your friends, testing how you do with cyclical ketogenic diet, etc. You may also want to test what your upper limit of carb is to remain in ketosis.
Having said that, it is not the most accurate way of measuring ketones, but by far the easiest and cheapest. Blood testing is more accurate but you need to own a measuring device and you need to pay for strips, which are expensive.
If you need an accurate measurement, buy the device and strips, but to get an idea quickly and cheaply, these strips would do the trick.
