Sodium bicarbonate aka baking soda has many more uses than just to make your muffins raise. It is a mild alkaline buffer, a gentle abrasive, an odor neutralizer, and effervescent agent, etc. SOLD IN BULK (750g), PACKED IN A KRAFT BAG for frequent use.
We use sodium bicarbonate to soak our fruits and vegetables to remove pesticide residues as it is said to be one of the most effective substance to remove pesticide residues. Then we drink it with pineapple cider vinegar and organic lime juice for kidney cleanse. There are so many more great uses!
Cleans pesticide residue from fruits & vegetables
Fill a large bowl / salad spinner with water, add a teaspoon of baking soda. Add the veggies, let them soak for 1-2 minutes. Drain in a strainer, rinse then dry. Harder vegetables can be gently brushed as well.
Mix 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, 1/2 tsp of baking soda in a shot glass Drink it up (or add a little bit of water to drink it). Then drink 1/4 cups of organic lime/lemon juice* with a straw (to protect your teeth). Take this between meals.
*Citric acid in lemons dissolves oxalate - kidney stones are caused by a build-up of calcium oxalate in the kidneys.
This tonic contains numerous nutrients and enzymes which improves your digestion, and improve kidney health. This also provides a healthy alkaline metabolic environment, which can lead to improved appearance of the hair and skin.
When the body is inflamed from toxins and stress, it becomes acidic. Such an acidic environment can create a hormone imbalance resulting in weight gain (uncontrollable appetite). When you consume alkaline drinks, it can help with this situation.
Improves athletic performance
If you want to benefit from athletic performance (weight training, HIIT, endurance training), you could try building to a total of 1g/6.8kg (15 lbs) body weight each day, spread the doses out to 4 times a day between meals (or before meal), as suggested in the Bulletproof Blog.
To be safe, start with half a teaspoon and work your way up.
Watch out, if you get short of breath or your heart is racing after taking baking soda, you may have a condition called hyperalkalosis (your blood is already alkaline).
DO NOT TAKE IT AFTER A LARGE MEAL. A large dose can react with your stomach acid, which can be harmful.
